Two Christian County judges have been selected to serve on task forces to plan how courts across the state will reopen and resume in-person services.
Chief Justice of Kentucky John Minton Jr. formed three task forces, one each for circuit, family and district court. A Supreme Court justice will head each task force, with judges and circuit court clerks from across the state serving as its members.
Christian Family Court Judge Jason Fleming was appointed to serve on the family court task force and Christian District Court Judge Foster Cotthoff was selected to serve on the district court task force.
Justice Minton, a Trigg County native, said as the state begins to gradually reopen businesses, the courts must prepare to do the same. He added, “although in-person serves have been suspended until May 31, our next priority is a reopening plan that respects social distancing while allowing greater access to the courts”. He said, “this will be a limited, phased approach to ensure the health and safety of our court family and the public.”
