Hopkinsville Community College will start a new four-semester paramedic program that will prepare students to sit for the National Registry Paramedic Exam, which is required to work in the field.
The college reports it will partner with Madisonville Community College to better serve students in the Pennyrile region with space for 16 students. Admission is selective and requires students to be EMT certified and complete several prerequisite courses prior to being admitted into the program.
Students will have the option to graduate with either an associate in applied science degree in emergency medical services – paramedic or a certificate for emergency medical services – paramedic.
Interested students must complete a separate application for the paramedic program, click here for the application or email Dr. Beth Beverly at ebeverly0003@kctcs.edu.
Applications are due by June 15. The paramedic program is approved for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, which provides Kentucky residents who meet minimal requirements with free tuition.
