Fort Campbell officials said Tuesday evening during the Facebook Town Hall they are looking forward to formally welcoming soldiers home who have been quarantined in recent weeks after returning from COVID-19 recovery efforts in New York.
101st Airborne Commander Major General Brian Winski says they will host a ceremony Thursday morning to reunite members of the 531st Hospital Center with their families.
He adds they look forward to hosting other services with some elements of the 3rd Brigade on June 11 before the Army’s birthday weekend.
Winski says there are currently 14 active cases of COVID-19 on the installation, with only one active-duty soldier confirmed positive for the virus.
Typically leading up to Memorial Day, Fort Campbell hosts the Week of the Eagles, which Winski says serves as a reflection for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Winski asks everyone to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend and says barring any major changes on the installation, they will not host a Facebook Town Hall event Tuesday, May 26.
