An Owensboro man was charged with burglary after he reportedly tried to break into a woman’s home on Sharpe Street in Hopkinsville Sunday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the home for a disturbance between a man and woman and found 39-year-old Laparkah Thomas and a woman on the porch of the home.
Thomas’s hand was reportedly shut in the door of the home to stop him from coming inside. Police say the woman was able to get an emergency protective order but Thomas had not been served the order.
After his hand was freed from the door he allegedly ignored the officer’s commands and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
