A Marshall County man was killed when his motorcycle hit a car at the intersection of Kentucky 93 and Kentucky 3305 in Lyon County Friday evening.
According to Kentucky State Police, 27-year old Jeffery Barrett, of Benton, was operating a motorcycle northbound on KY 93, while 27-year old Mark Driver, of Eddyville, was traveling southbound in a car. The report says Driver attempted to make a left turn onto KY 3305 and Barrett’s motorcycle hit Driver’s car, causing Driver to lose control and collide with an unoccupied pickup truck.
Barrett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner. Driver and his passengers were not injured in the crash.
KY 93 was shut down for about 4 hours while a state police reconstructionist and troopers investigated the crash and the wreck scene was cleared.
KSP was assisted on the scene by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Lyon County EMS, and the Eddyville Police Department.
State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
