Christian And Trigg Reporting Good Turnout For Primary As Of Midday

Despite a one month delay for the 2020 Primary Election due to the COVID-19 pandemic, turnout in Christian and Trigg counties has been good Tuesday and voting has been running smoothly.

Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries tells the News Edge voting is running well and there have been no problems at the lone polling location at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

During in-house absentee voting for about the last twelve days at the old Courthouse on Main Street, Humphries says over 900 voted and out of the 7,000 ballots they mailed out over 4,000 had been returned as of Monday night.

Humphries says she is happy with the turnout for the primary election thus far.
