Elections Running Well in Trigg, Christian Counties

No major issues have been reported and voter turnout has been good in Trigg and Christian counties for the Primary Election, which was pushed back 35 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley tells the News Edge things have been good today.

As of this afternoon, over 280 people had cast their votes Tuesday at the EOC building and the Way Christian Youth Center. Before Tuesday, 856 had voted at the EOC building and 1,251 cast mail-in ballots.

Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries says things have been smooth at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

As of 4:30 PM, over 2,000 people had cast their ballot in-person at the convention center Tuesday. In addition, Humphries reports 970 voted in their office before Tuesday, and around 4,800 mail-in ballots have been returned.
