A long-term care facility in Todd County is reporting five additional active COVID-19 cases among residents and staff at the facility.
Hearthstone Long Term Care Administrator Elizabeth Gettings reported Thursday evening the facility currently has fourteen residents who are active cases and are in a separate unit of the facility. She says two of these cases were recent admissions from the hospital.
In addition, Gettings says all staff has been tested and they now have five employees who have tested positive for the virus, with four of those employees asymptomatic.
On Wednesday, Gettings reported there were twelve residents and three staff members infected with the virus.
She says they are continuing to work closely with the health department and the facility’s medical director to manage these cases appropriately and efficiently.
Gettings also says she wants to reassure everyone they are doing everything they can to meet the needs of all the residents at the facility and keep them safe. She adds the staff at the facility is working around the clock to provide the necessary care and support they need.
