Governor Says Kentucky In COVID-19 Plateau

Governor Andy Beshear says Kentucky remains in a plateau with numbers of active cases, with more than 400 new cases reported Sunday afternoon.

Governor Beshear says being in a plateau is positive news, but we have to see those numbers steadily decline.  He adds all the sacrifices are working, and we must all continue to be patient and do our part to drive those numbers down.

As of Sunday afternoon Beshear reported 467 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the state total to 43,529.  Seventy-nine of the newly reported cases were from children ages 18 and younger, of which 15 were children ages 5 and under.  The youngest COVID-19 cases was just three days old.

The Governor also reported nine new deaths Sunday, pushing the statewide total to 881.  The deaths include a 63-year-old Johnson County man, a 63-year-old Shelby County man, 78 and 73-year old men from Lewis County, a 72-year-old Knox County man, a 77-year-old Oldham County woman, an 88-year-old woman from Scott County, and a 90-year-old woman and 91-year-old man from Green County.
