CCPS Activates 16 Internet Hotspots Across Christian County

Christian County Public Schools announced Thursday morning that the district has activated sixteen internet hotspots throughout the county to help provide students with internet service for online learning.

Spokesman John Rittenhouse says the internet hotspots are physical locations for internet service within the school district. He adds these hotspots are available for both non-traditional instruction and students enrolled in the Virtual Learning Academy to utilize if the internet is not available to their homes. He says a remaining twelve hotspots are in the process of being installed and activated at various volunteer fire departments located around Christian County.

The sixteen current hotspots are:

Crofton Elementary School, 12145 South Madisonville Road in Crofton

Christian County High School, 220 Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville

Christian County Day Treatment Center, 102 West Second Street in Hopkinsville

Christian County Middle School, 215 Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville

Christian County Personnel Department, 129 Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville

Freedom Elementary School, 831 North Drive in Hopkinsville

Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology, 705 North Elm in Hopkinsville

Hopkinsville High School, 430 Koffman Drive in Hopkinsville

Hopkinsville Middle School, 403 Koffman Drive in Hopkinsville

Indian Hills Elementary School, 313 Blane Drive in Hopkinsville

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, 14405 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Hopkinsville

Millbrooke Elementary School, 415 Millbrooke Drive in Hopkinsville

Pembroke Elementary School, 1600 Pembroke-Oak Grove Road in Pembroke

Sinking Fork Elementary School, 5005 Princeton Road in Hopkinsville

South Christian Elementary School, 12340 Herndon Oak Grove Rd in Herndon

Stadium of Champions, 9503 Eagle Way in Hopkinsville

Rittenhouse says these locations allow families and students access to school lesson plans and teacher communication for both NTI and the Virtual Learning Academy. He says the map (below) shows all sites to be employed but only the current sixteen school sites are available immediately. Once the remaining volunteer fire department sites are brought online, he says parents and students will be notified.
