The Christian County Health Department reported two deaths related to COVID-19 Thursday, raising the county’s total to thirteen since the outbreak began earlier this year.
Amanda Sweeney, spokesperson at the health department, says the first death was an 86-year old white, non-Hispanic male and the second death was an 85-year old black, non-Hispanic female, both with underlying health conditions. She added their hearts go out to their friends and family during this time.
Sweeney also reported an increase of fifteen cases Thursday with the total number of active cases at 215. The active cases include 123 between the ages of 22 to 59; 52 cases in those 21 years old and younger; 34 between the ages of 60 to 84; and, six 85 years of age and older.
Of the county’s total 864 cases, 636 have recovered.
