On the heels of what Governor Andy Beshear believes is the third escalation of COVID-19 cases in Kentucky, he asked residents to have a sense of urgency.
During his Monday news conference, the governor said he believed the state has become more casual in the approach to the virus since the traditional start of school.
He added that it’s his belief there is a lack of urgency and some poor decision making in other states like Florida, Texas, Arizona, South Carolina, and many other places.
While talking about the recent increase in cases, Beshear said the Commonwealth no longer seems to be in a plateau, but an escalation.
Governor Beshear announced 456 new COVID-19 cases and 5 new deaths Monday. The state’s positivity rate currently sits at 4.41%.
