During the Thursday COVID-19 news briefing, Kentucky Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman announced the Team Kentucky fund has handed out more than $1 million.
Coleman said donations have been very strong for the fund.
Coleman added every gift is tax-deductable and 100% of proceeds go to the fund.
In other news, it was announced Thursday afternoon that sign language interpreter Virginia Moore, a regular contributor to Governor Beshear’s briefings, has stage one uterine cancer.
Moore added it’s important to get checkups regularly.
Governor Beshear announced Thursday afternoon 884 new COVID-19 cases and 11 new deaths, including a 31-year-old man from Warren County.
The governor continues to ask all residents to light their homes and businesses green to help those mourn the loss of their loved ones.
