Kentucky, Christian County Thursday COVID-19 Update

Governor Andy Beshear said Thursday afternoon the 68 counties in the ‘red’ zone on the incidence rate map should follow the state’s recommendations next week.

Locally, ‘red’ zone counties include Caldwell, Calloway, Christian, Hopkins, Lyon, Marshall, and Todd.

During his news briefing, Beshear reiterated recommendations he announced Monday.

 

He added everyone in those counties needs to reduce their number of contacts.

 

Beshear announced 1,821 new cases and 19 new deaths Thursday.

 

In Christian County, health department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said there were 27 new cases confirmed Thursday afternoon. She added the county had seen 1,990 total cases, with 289 active. Of those, 205 are either 59 or younger, and 84, 60 or older. In all, Christian County has reported 1,670 recoveries and 31 deaths since mid-March.
