Deputies have released the name of a man and woman after a high-speed chase on Newstead Road Saturday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a car driven by 21-year-old Lucas Lauritson for speeding and he fled leading them on a pursuit towards Hopkinsville.
During the pursuit, Lauritson was able to turn around and flee away from town before deputies used a pursuit intervention technique to push the car into a ditch ending the chase near the intersection of Perry Lane.
Lauritson and his passenger 23-year-old Haley Pool were then taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and trafficking meth. Lauritson was also charged with speeding.
