As some schools return to virtual learning due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in counties throughout the area, the lack of internet service in rural areas continues to be a major issue throughout western Kentucky.
First District Congressman James Comer says with students having to use nontraditional instruction due to the pandemic, the lack of internet service has been brought to the forefront.
Comer says he believes it will take a public-private partnership to help get broadband into these rural areas of western Kentucky.
