The number of people infected with the coronavirus continues to spike around the area.
Caldwell County’s total number of COVID-19 cases surpassed 400 after six new cases were confirmed Thursday.
Judge-Executive Larry Curling told the News Edge all the cases are recovering at home and include four females and two males ranging in age from 6 to 47-years old.
Since the pandemic began 402 people in Caldwell county have been infected with the virus.
Meanwhile, the Pennyrile District Health Department reported three new cases were confirmed Thursday in Lyon County, including a 76-year old female who is hospitalized. A 60-year old female and a 55-year old female are both isolated at home.
A total of 151 cases have been confirmed in Lyon County.
The health department reported two new cases in Trigg County, raising the county’s total number of cases to 307. The cases confirmed Thursday include a 61-year old female and 64-year old male, who are both recovering at home.
According to the Pennyrile District Health Department, there were no new cases reported in Crittenden County Thursday.
And the Christian County Health Department announced 42 new COVID-19 cases Thursday afternoon.
Health department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney said there are now a total of 2,348 cases. Of those, 298 cases are active with 225 either 59 or younger and 73, 60 or older.
In Christian County, there have been over 2,000 recoveries and 34 deaths since mid-March.
