The Christian County Public School District has launched its new workforce initiative.
Communications Director John Rittenhouse tells the News Edge Fusion is a partnership with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce and the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council. The program will educate and train students for a lifelong career while creating a sustainable workforce for Hopkinsville and Christian County.
Rittenhouse added the partnership would merge resources with area businesses and industries to allow for cooperative education placements and registered apprenticeships. It will allow students to become viable members of the workforce, become productive citizens in the community, and establish marketable skills that will impact their entire lives.
The program is run by Sandra Hancock, with businesses interested in developing an apprenticeship encouraged to call her at (270) 887-7000.
