A wreck on US 68 just east of Interstate 24 in Trigg County Friday evening sent two juveniles to area hospitals, one with what were termed severe injuries.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say shortly before 5:00 an SUV was westbound on 68 when the driver ran off the road into the median about a mile east of Interstate 24. The vehicle then overturned and came to a rest on its top in the middle of the westbound lanes. Deputies say the SUV was then hit by a truck that failed to see the crash in time to stop.
A passenger in the SUV was flown to a Nashville hospital with severe injuries, while the driver was taken by ambulance to Trigg County Hospital for what were termed non life-threatening injuries.
The Trigg County Sheriff’s Department has not released the names of those involved in the crash.
US 68 was closed for several hours in the aftermath of the crash.
