First District Congressman James Comer is hopeful the COVID-19 relief signed into law by President Donald Trump will provide a needed boost for the economy.
During a recent conversation with the News Edge, Comer says he was pleased to support the legislation that was tied to the 2020-2021 fiscal year spending plan.

click to download audioAfter threatening to veto the bill President Trump decided to sign it into law Sunday night. The plan provides extended unemployment assistance, $600 payments for those earning less than $75,000 and for a couple earning less than $150,000.
The plan also includes $600 payments for each child in a qualifying home, an extension of the Paycheck Protection Program, additional food and nutrition assistance and more.
