Kentucky reported 1,998 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, which is the fewest for a Monday since December 28.
Through 18 days, the state has reported 59,622 cases of the virus, which is around 1,200 more than the same point in December.
Kentucky also reported 40 deaths associated with the virus Monday, bringing the month’s total to 515 which is 80 more than through 18 days of December.
The state’s positivity rate was 11.6-percent – the third straight day it was under 12-percent.
The Monday report also showed 1,587 people hospitalized in Kentucky with the virus, which is the fewest this month and the fewest since December 28.
