A Hopkinsville man was charged with receiving stolen property after a traffic stop on East 9th Street Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 18-year-old Jayden Weaver was stopped after he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of South Campbell Street and East 7th Street.
During the stop, police say Weaver and his two passengers were asked to get out of the vehicle and were patted down due to their prior history with firearm involvement.
Weaver was reportedly found to have a stolen .45 caliber handgun in his athletic shorts under his pants. He is charged with disregarding a stop sign, failure to or improper signal, and receiving stolen property.
