Trigg County school board members approved the first reading of the 2021-22 calendar during its Thursday night meeting.
Director of Student Services James Mangels told the board the first calendar option presented in a recent survey won with 66-percent approval.
Mangels added the first calendar option features some week-long breaks that have become popular with students and parents each year.
Board members approved the first reading of the calendar by a 4-0 vote, with Clara Beth Hyde absent from the meeting.
In other business, board members heard a COVID-19 case update from Superintendent Bill Thorpe.
Thorpe added teachers and staff members who received their first COVID-19 vaccination from the Trigg County Health Department last month will get their second dose on Thursday, February 18.
