While COVID-19 has been at the forefront of the Christian County Health Department’s mind, the department has other campaigns to ensure the community stays healthy.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney-Brunt said it’s best to start a discussion with your medical provider about it once you turn 50, or 40, if you are an African-American.
Diabetes Alert Day is also coming up Tuesday, and Brunt added it’s a one-day wake-up call to focus on the disease.
She said there is a test on their website to see if you are at risk for diabetes.
Brunt said many things that could happen if diabetes is not caught early.
If you have any questions, you can contact the Christian County Health Department via their Facebook page or call their office in Hopkinsville.
