A Hopkinsville businessman is featured in a new campaign launched Thursday morning to encourage Black Kentuckians who are hesitant about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
‘I Got The Shot to Protect the Ones I Love’ is the campaign’s theme that features Tom Bell, an insurance agent and a Christian County Public Schools board member.
During the virtual launch, Bell said he has known people that had COVID-19 and did not survive.
He added they are trying to spread the word to the local community that the vaccine is safe for everyone.
During the video made as a part of the campaign, Bell mentioned racism still exists in the medical field for people of color.
The campaign is being hosted by the Foundation For A Healthy Kentucky and the Kentucky Nurses Association.
