Trigg County magistrates approved a resolution to ask the state to consider raising the speed limit on the new section of U.S. 68/Kentucky 80.
During Monday’s meeting, Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander told magistrates he had several requests to raise the speed limit from 55 to 65 mph.
County Attorney Randy Braboy read the resolution.
Magistrates also approved the first reading of the 2021-22 budget for the county. Alexander said the budget featured an increase of about 2.35-percent from the current budget.
Also approved, the first reading of an amendment to the current budget to show the over $667,000 the county received in CARES Act funding to purchase PPE and to help cover the payroll for frontline workers.
