Hopkinsville Electric System officials say there will be a power outage across portions of the city Saturday night.
The outage will begin at 11:59 p.m. to perform system upgrades requiring power to be off for two-and-a-half hours for residents along S. Campbell Street, S. Main Street, S. Virginia Street, and S. Walnut Street.
Officials add they regret any inconveniences caused by the outage. They say residents may want to heat their houses more than normal before the outage occurs. HES also recommends that customers not open refrigerators or freezers to retain the cold for the foods inside.
