Beshear Doesn’t Expect Mask Mandate for Schools in the Fall

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said Monday he does not expect there to be a mask mandate for schools this fall when classes resume.

Last week, Beshear announced the state’s mask mandate and capacity restrictions for businesses and venues will end on June 11. He said he expects the state to return to a normal setting by the time classes resume for the 2021-22 school year.

On Monday Beshear said over 6,000 kids in that age group have been vaccinated since Thursday.

This comes as the state saw the third week of declining COVID-19 cases and testing positivity rates.
