A wreck on Interstate 24 in Christian County sent three people to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a dump truck was eastbound near the Carter Road overpass when it ran off the road overturning several times losing it’s load of a truck and scrap metal. The back wheels and axle on the dump truck came off in the crash and hit a westbound RV.
Authorities say a westbound SUV ran off the road trying to avoid the collision causing the vehicle to be disabled and a child inside the vehicle to hit their head.
The two people in the dump tuck were reportedly taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for possible broken bones.
The child from the SUV was also taken by ambulance to the same hospital to be checked out due to possible head injuries.
The crash happened just before 1 pm.
