The Christian County Grand Jury returned several indictments Friday including charges of attempted murder, assault, and arson.
21-year old Jacylynn Ommarr Cheatham, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of attempted murder, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and two counts of first-degree assault. The charges are in connection to a March 27th shooting at the Marathon gas station on East 9th Street. Police reported 20-year old Darrius Quarles of Hopkinsville was shot several times and 38-year old Bryan Jones of Cadiz was also injured in the shooting. Police said Quarles was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville and Jones showed up at Jennie Stuart Medical Center shortly after the shooting. Jones was treated and released.
The grand jury indicted 38-year old Katrina Renee Grandberry, of Clarksville, Tennessee, for first-degree assault. The charges stem from the night of December 14, 2020, when police reported Grandberry stabbed a 47-year old female with a knife inside a home on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road.
50-year old Charles Smalls, of Oak Grove, was indicted on a first-degree arson charge. Smalls was arrested by Oak Grove police after officers said he intentionally took lighter fluid into his residence after an argument with his wife, then poured it into the immediate area of his wife’s bedroom door while she was inside the room. According to police, Smalls safely evacuated the burning home while he allegedly left his wife in the burning home with no patch to escape the fire. Police and firemen were able to get the woman out of the home, and she was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition.
And 49-year old Ronald Quinn Osburn, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault – dating violence, and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked license. The charges stem from February 17 when a female victim reportedly told deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office that Osburn attacked her. She accused Osburn of slamming her against a wall and table and then choking her after throwing her in a chair.
