Fort Campbell Soldiers Suffer Heat-Related Injuries Friday

Officials with the 101st Airborne Division say more than two dozen soldiers at Fort Campbell sustained heat-related injuries during a road march on the Army post Friday morning.

The 101st Airborne Division posted on social media that 28 soldiers were treated by medical professionals on-site and, out of an abundance of caution, they were transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on Fort Campbell for treatment. Army officials say all were in stable condition as of noon, and eighteen were released.

Officials at Fort Campbell say the health of their force is not something they take lightly and they take every precaution to ensure the soldiers are able to train safely under all conditions to produce the most highly-trained, disciplined, and fit soldiers in the world.

Officials made the post on the 101st Airborne Division Facebook page after they said a social media site inaccurately and irresponsibly reported the training death of soldiers on Fort Campbell, which was a false report.
