Another Republican has thrown his name in the hat to run again for the Mayor of Hopkinsville in the 2022 election.
JR Knight says they are looking to be able to communicate more with the community before the upcoming election since the COVID-19 pandemic hampered his ability to campaign face-to-face in the 2020 election.

click to download audioHe believes downtown Hopkinsville needs a lot of work, including the old buildings which he says should be renovated or demolished in order to rebuild.
click to download audioKnight adds there are great businesses and a lot of people spend money downtown, but there is still some work that needs to be done to the buildings to bring it around.
In addition, Knight says the City needs to bring more large businesses to town, like manufacturers, as well as help expand a big part of our community which is agriculture.
Knight tells the News Edge he has received a lot of positive support and feedback from the community after he announced he was running for mayor again.
