Victims Identified In Trigg County Death Investigation

UPDATED STORY –Autopsies have determined two people found dead in a Cadiz home Saturday morning died from gunshot wounds.

Kentucky State Police said Monday afternoon that preliminary autopsies were conducted at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.

76-year-old Mildred Faris and her 28-year-old great-nephew Matthew Blakeley were found dead in Faris’ Cerulean Road home after 8 Saturday morning.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 spokesman Trooper Adam Jones said detectives are looking for 29-year old Landon Stinson, who is wanted for questioning in connection to this incident. Kentucky State Police are still searching for a 29-year-old man wanted for questioning in the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered Saturday morning.
Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson identified the victims as 75-year-old Mildred Sue Faris and her 28-year-old grandson Matthew Blakeley.  Vinson said he could not confirm the cause of death for Faris and Blakeley due to the ongoing Kentucky State Police investigation.  Blakely was a great-nephew of faris.

Faris was the wife of the late Jerry Faris of Cadiz.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 spokesman Trooper Adam Jones says the investigation began when detectives with state police were called to the home on Cerulean Road in Cadiz around 8:45 Saturday morning after the dead bodies of two people were found. He says detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths at this time.

According to Jones, detectives are currently looking for 29-year old Landon Stinson who is wanted for questioning in connection to this incident. Stinson is a great-nephew of Faris.

Earlier in the day Cadiz Police Chief Duncan Wiggins told the News Edge he could release no details about the investigation.

Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson was called to the scene after police and other emergency officials arrived.
