The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is notifying motorists about a lane closure on a section of Eagle Way Bypass in Hopkinsville that will affect traffic for several hours Tuesday morning.

KYTC District 2 spokeswoman Kiersten Jaggers says the westbound lane will be closed between KY 107/Lafayette Road and KY 695/Cox Mill Road in order for maintenance personnel to address pavement repairs caused by the downed power lines that occurred Monday night, June 28. The damage was caused when a combine reportedly downed the power lines, which sparked a large fire.

According to Jaggers, the pavement repair work is scheduled to begin around 9:00 Tuesday morning and expected to take three to four hours to complete.

She says motorists should seek an alternate route.
