Trigg County FYSRC Recipient of State Grant

Family Youth Resource Centers in Trigg and Crittenden counties are among 150 in the state to receive grant money through the second round of the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund.

Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman said $15 million in grants will be made available to the family resource and youth services centers.

She said the grants will provide a focus on early childhood education and child care in addition to family crisis and mental health counseling.

click to download audioSchool districts awarded grants include the Horizon Youth Services Center in the Trigg County School District; the Heart to Heart Family Youth Resource Center in the Crittenden County School District; and the Cardinal Connection Youth Service Center and the Family First Family Resource Center in the Livingston County School District.

They will receive up to $150,000 each.

Coleman said the value of the family resource centers was realized during the COVID-19 pandemic.
