A help session is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Trigg County Cafeteria, for parents needing guidance and assistance with the mandatory online registration process surrounding the Trigg County Schools 2021-22 academic year.

As of July 22, more than 700 students had already been registered through the portal — located online at trigg.kyschools.us — and Trigg County Director of Personnel and Student Services James Mangels added more than 600 applications had been processed.

Parents planning to attend should bring all required documents for the application, which for new incoming families to the school systems includes proof of residency through a utility bill or current lease/deed, a copy of a birth certificate, a copy of a social security card, a Kentucky Immunization Certificate, a Physical Examination, a Vision and Dental Examination (which can be procured by January 1, 2022), and any necessary court documents regarding custody of your student.

A wealth of household information is also necessary for on-file reference: addresses and home phone numbers, work and cell phone numbers, pertinent email addresses, any special demographics or health/medication records for the student, three emergency contacts (and their full legal name, date of birth and phone number) who are non-parent guardians, and any contacts available for family medical providers.

Parents certainly aren’t require to attend, but must still complete the applications online and on their own time, and soon.

The first day of school is set for August 11.
