An Eddvyille man, a teen and adult both of Marion are among five people killed in a car versus semi-tractor crash in McCracken County Monday afternoon.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the wreck in the 4000 block of Clarks River Road around 12:10 p.m. An investigation revealed 45-year old Frank Holland, of Paducah, was driving a semi-tractor with an attached flatbed trailer traveling eastbound on Clarks River Road when 23-year old Monica Jewell, of LaCenter, exited the driveway of a business, crossing both eastbound lanes of the road. Deputies said the two vehicles collided in a broadside manner in the eastbound lane.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jewell and her four passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers were identified as 26-year old Trevor Doom of LaCenter, 44-year old Eddie Knight of Eddyville, and 14-year old Alexander Hudson and 54-year old Linda Young, both of Marion.
Authorities say Clarks River Road was closed in the area of the wreck for approximately seven hours for a crash reconstruction, scene processing, and vehicle recovery.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
