Cadiz Police Department Swears In New School Resource Officers

The Cadiz Police Department formally welcomed two new Trigg County School Resource Officers during a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday morning.

Cadiz Mayor Todd King administered the oath of office to Sergeant Jack Lingenfelter and Officer Shawn Young Tuesday morning at Cadiz City Hall. Although the News Edge was not invited to the event, a post on social media notes that Sergeant Lingenfelter and Officer Young will begin their duties at Trigg County Schools Monday, August 9. The post on social media says the Cadiz Police Department is proud to have the two officers protecting the most important asset of Trigg County, our children.

Sergeant Lingenfelter has been in law enforcement for more than twenty years. He retired from the Cadiz Police Department but decided to rejoin the department on August 2, 2021.
