An employee with the 56th Judicial Circuit has been appointed as the Trigg County Circuit Clerk, to replace Pam Perry who retired last month after 46 years of service.
56th Circuit Judge C.A. Woodall III selected Stephen Washer out of seven Trigg County residents he interviewed last week who qualified for the Trigg Circuit Court clerk vacancy. Judge Woodall says he considered many factors in making the appointment for the period of time through the November 2022 election. One of the many factors, he added was familiarity with the court system and with the Trigg Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in particular.
According to Judge Woodall, Washer has worked in the 56th Judicial Circuit for almost six years and is familiar with the operation of the court’s recording system as well as the operations in the offices of the four Circuit Clerks within the 56th Judicial Circuit, including Trigg County. Washer, a lifelong Cadiz resident, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in computer information systems from Western Kentucky University. Judge Woodall says Washer has extensive experience through his prior employment with information technology programming analysis, delivery, and support.
Judge Woodall states that Washer’s appointment will cause the least disruption to the Trigg Circuit Clerk’s operations since he is known within the office and within the community as well as minimize any disruption for delivery of services to both District and Circuit courts.
Washer will be sworn in as the Trigg County Circuit Clerk in the Trigg Circuit Courtroom Thursday morning at 10:00 and the appointment will be effective immediately.
