According to Director of Communications John Rittenhouse, Christian County Public Schools will be delaying the beginning of its preschool services until August 25.
Due to the mandate from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear — and a subsequent unanimous vote from the Kentucky Department of Education — requiring pre-school students wear masks, Rittenhouse added the two-day postponement will “afford parents extra time to prepare their children, and will assist CCPS in ensuring the pre-school learning environment best meets the needs of [CCPS’s] youngest students.”
As things stand, there is no COVID vaccine for children 12 and under, though it’s currently in development.
