The last full week of August is going to be hot and with high humidity, the heat index value will be pushing over 100.
With the start of September next week, Weather Edge Forecaster David Powell says summer is not going to give it up easily with dangerous heat conditions forecast for the first part of this week.
click to download audioPowell says the stifling conditions will continue until Thursday when the area could get a little relief from the oppressive heat when some showers move into the region.
click to download audioHe adds they are keeping an eye on a couple of systems in the Gulf and Tropics that will allow a cold front to move into western Kentucky, bringing relief from the heat with cooler temperatures.
Looking further down the road, Powell said when the temperature turns cooler it will continue.
