Christian County school board members last week approved a pay raise for classified employees, along with payment for the re-roofing project at South Christian Elementary School.
Director of Finance Jessica Darnell asked the board to approve a $2 per hour pay raise due to the shortages the school district faces this year in three areas of classified staff: transportation, custodial services, and food services.

click to download audioBoard members unanimously approved the pay raises which Darnell said would cost the Food Service Fund a total of $253,264 for cafeteria workers with the custodians and transportation total cost around $635,000 for the year.
As part of the plan, Darnell also stated they are looking at giving a pay raise to all staff the next school year.
