A Utica man died helping a woman that fell in Lake Barkley in Trigg County Saturday afternoon.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources says 67-year-old Ralph Willis jumped into the water around 5 pm at Lake Barkley Marina to help his wife Peggy who fell in the water while they were attempting to dock their boat.
Willis did not resurface and was located just before 8 pm by the Trigg County Rescue Squad and rescue divers.
Willia’s accident reportedly makes the 14th water-related death in the Law Enforcement Division’s First Region this year.

Authorities were called to Lake Barkley Marina for a drowning Saturday afternoon.
Trigg County emergency personnel say a man fell off of a dock and drowned just after 5 p.m.
The man’s body was located and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner’s Office.
The man’s name has not been released.
