A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly assaulted a woman on Howell Street Saturday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 54-year-old Carloss Potter accused the woman of calling him a name and struck her in the head with an unknown object possibly a hammer causing serious injury. Potter was reportedly intoxicated at the time.
He is charged with first-degree assault.
