Police have released more information about a wreck on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville that sent five Hopkinsville residents to the hospital and led to a disturbance Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say an eastbound car driven by 32-year-old Lakeya Gardner was turning into the Subway parking lot and was hit by a car from behind driven by 26-year-old Debra Howard. As emergency personnel were working to get Howard out of her vehicle three juveniles ran up to them and began pushing them and yelling.
After one of the juveniles was detained, the other two continued to yell and push at law enforcement before one of them took off running as they tried to detain him.
All three juveniles were eventually detained before being released.
Both drivers, along with three passengers in Gardner’s vehicle 12-year-old Avyonna Lee, 7-year-old Karma White, and 5-year-old Damoni White were all taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
Howard was cited by police for not having an operator’s license or insurance. The crash happened just after 7 p.m.
