A Hopkinsville man was charged with receiving stolen property and assault after a disturbance on Harvey Way in Hopkinsville Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a disturbance in the parking lot and found a woman with a bloody lip and swollen eye.
The woman’s boyfriend 41-year-old Nicholas Starks was arrested and charged with assaulting her. After being arrested he was reportedly found to have a .380 caliber handgun that had been reported stolen out of Hopkins County.
The pink gun had been repainted blue. He was charged with receiving stolen property, fourth-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
