Labor Force And Grand Openings On EDC Agenda

The number of people working across the three-county area is hovering around the 50 percent mark.

South Western Kentucky EDC Director Carter Hendricks told board members during Monday’s monthly meeting at Pennyrile Electric that means there is still about half of the people who could be eligible for unemployment.

click to download audioHendricks also noted there are two industries holding grand openings this week, with the first Novelis in Guthrie. Todd County Judge Executive Todd Mansfield says Novelis will show off some of the vehicles the company helps to build.
