The 2021 Trigg County Country Ham Festival was a success, with initial reports indicating the festival will be in the black.
During the final Ham Festival Committee meeting for 2021 at Cadiz City Hall Tuesday, city employees and other committee members discussed the festival that took place on October 8 and 9. Total expenses were reported at just over$57,000l. Income highlights include $40,170 in sponsorships, $20,341 from food and vendor booth rental, $14,306 from the carnival, and $4,787 from t-shirt sales. City Clerk Barbie Johnson says initial indications point to a good ham festival.
click to download audioThe committee approved setting aside $3,000 for scholarships from the Trigg County Country Ham Festival that will be awarded in May 2022. The committee will decide on the number and amount of individual scholarships at a future meeting.
Festival Committee Secretary Susan Hyde noted that feedback received by Mayor Todd King was positive concerning the new festival stage at West Cadiz Park, with Johnson noting the stage has been booked for next year.

Meanwhile, new Cadiz Main Street Director Darlene Butts opened discussion about planning some displays or events to bring the festival back to it’s roots.
