A Hopkinsville man was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drugs after a traffic stop on South Clay Street in Hopkinsville Saturday night.
Hopkinsville Police say on Friday 52-year-old Ronald Young took a rental car while visiting a family member at their home.
He reportedly never had permission to use the car and took the keys from a nightstand.
Police say Young was stopped on South Clay Street Saturday and after being taken to jail a bag of cocaine was found in the back of the police cruiser and he was seen on camera trying to destroy the evidence.
He is charged with tampering with physical evidence, receiving stolen property, possession of cocaine, and operating on a suspended or revoked
