Filings By Gilliam, Moyer Ensure Republican Primary For Christian County Judge-Executive’s Race

There will be a Republican primary for the Christian County judge-executive’s race as Magistrate Jerry Gilliam filed to run for the seat.

The Christian County Clerk’s office reported that Gilliam filed for the office Tuesday, one day after local businesswoman Katie Moyer also filed to run.

Elsewhere, Republican Adam Smith has become the first candidate to file for Christian County jailer.

And the first person to publicly announce a run for county clerk also became the first person to officially file. Erica Newby, a former employee in the county’s clerk’s office, filed Tuesday for the Republican primary.

The county clerk’s office also reported that Mike “Bubba” Haddock became the first candidate to file for the constable’s race in Christian County with his intent to run in District 8.

The deadline to file in next May’s primary election is January 7.
